We are pleased to present you the upcoming Opera Masterclass, organized by Piccola Università Italiana in collaboration with leading opera industry professionals, tailor-made especially for young Japanese singers, pursuing their professional careers.

The 2 weeks program consists of:

• intensive course of Italian language and culture in small groups of 3-6 students at Piccola Università Italiana, recognized by the Ministry of Education and with more than 20 years of experience in teaching the Italian language
• vocal master class with two great interpreters of Italian lyric tradition Daniela Mazzucato and Max Renè Cosotti
• phonetics course applied to singing with Professor Roberto Santini, opera singer, director and teacher of Italian phonetics  

The lessons will be coordinated by Nicolò Ceriani, Italian opera singer and director, and followed by a skilled pianist Federico Cosolini.

The operas to be prepared for summer 2015 are:

• The Barber of Seville by G.Rossini
• La Traviata by G.Verdi

At the end of the program, the students will perform at the final show, which will be video recorded. 

The Opera Masterclass will take place in the charming and elegant city of Trieste, in the province of Friuli-Venezia-Giulia, Italy, strategically located a few kilometers away from Venice, Verona, Slovenia and Austria (Salzburg, Vienna).

Program summary:

• Transfer from/to the airport of Trieste
• 40 hours of Italian language course in small groups of 3 to 6 students
• 18 hours of vocal master class
• chance to practice in the soundproofed classrooms
• 7 hours of phonetics course applied to singing
• videotaped final show
• accommodation in a residence with kitchenette
• insurance
• educational tour of the city of Trieste

• trip to Verona for the weekend and tickets for “Aida” at the Arena di Verona (optional, not included in the program)

• air travel and meals are not included in the program fee and are the responsibility of the student. We recommend traveling with Alitalia, with a stop in Rome (Ex .: Tokyo - Rome - Trieste)
